What I Wore Wednesday

So through doing the WIWW posts I have realized that I wear a VERY small portion of my closet. I think thats most girls though. We have a closet {:or 3:} full of clothes and wear like a fraction of them. But, these WIWW posts have forced me to go outside of that "sweet spot" in my closet. I think when I get dressed, "oh shoot I already took a picture of that, what other combos can I put together?"
So yay for that!

I actually got dressed a good bit this week but forgot to take pictures....oh well. Here is what I did take pictures of...

Happy Wednesday!

My Week According to my iPhone

So to end this week I thought this would be a fun post to do.
And since I apparently take way too many pictures
{:my phone tells me I am out of memory all the time:}
it works right?

This first one is exciting! As I have already blogged about I graduated with my masters last month but I found this on my porch this week
Exciting right!

Then because I am never early about things I went shopping for my dad for Father's Day last Friday. I went here....probably not most peoples first shopping spot but for my farmer/cowboy dad it was just the spot to start.
{:Did I mention he was ranked 7th in the world at one time for bull riding....impressed?:}

After I went shopping at Tractor Supply I got to go see my "P" and "Sweet P"
{:I call my friend "p" because we lived together in college and said we were 2 peas in a pod and when she had a baby she earned the nickname "sweet pea". I know we are cheesy but I love it:}

Then in honor of Father's Day I tweeted and posted this picture on Instagram
{:follow me: aemiller16:}

On Monday I decided to actually try one of those millions of recipes I pinned on Pinterest.
I decided to make the chicken garbage bread I pinned. It was very yummy.

I told you in an earlier post Psalm 46:10 is my "verse for the year" so I have been searching for one of those wall clings that I liked to put on my wall with the verse. I ordered one from a Simply Said party my mom's friend had and I hung it in my house yesterday. I literally just stare at this picture because I love it so much.

What I Wore Wednesday 7/20

Is it Wednesday again? I was getting ready for this post and realized I better get ready today (Tuesday) and wear something cute because I didn't get out of my gym shorts much this week...but I did get to get on my bathing suit several times. So I am not quite as pasty as before and my legs won't blind you!
{:You're Welcome:}

Outfit One:
I wore this to run errands with my mom this week. It is light weight and comfy, which is great because it is HOT this week.
The entire outfit is less than $40 and I wear all of the pieces with other things too! SCORE
Black Under Tank: Target $8
Oversized T-Shirt: Aerie $10
Skirt: H&M $5
Sandals: Target $15

 Outfit Two:
I wore this when we went out to eat for Father's Day {:Outback, yummy:}
I wore a different outfit to church that morning but I got to take my mom with me {:for the first time since her accident WOOHOO:} so I didn't have time to take pictures...but another Wednesday.
Wrap Around Floral Shirt: Kohls
Capris: Kohls Simply Vera Wang
Wedges: Kohls Candies
Bracelet: Charolette Russe
Earrings: Guess

Adventures in Baking: Luau Cupcakes

I was looking for a delicious desert to take to a cookout the other week and came across these yummy looking cupcakes on Pinterest, but the directions weren't so hot. However, they came out amazing so I am passing on the goodness.

{:By the way the cupcakes were a HUGE hit. Not only do they look pretty they taste amazing:}

What you will need:
- Golden Vanilla Cake Mix
- Pineapple Chunks in their own juice
- Coconut Flakes
- Maraschino Cherries
- Butter Cream Icing

To make the cupcakes: Cook the cupcakes according to the directions on the box, but replace the 1 cup of water with 1 cup of pineapple juice
{: If you buy a 20 oz. can of pineapple chunks their is exactly 1 cup of juice}

Browning the Coconut: While the cupcakes are baking brown about 1/3 of the bag of coconut flakes. Brown the coconut by putting about a tablespoon of butter in a small skillet. Melt it on low heat on your stovetop. Add the coconut flakes and continually stir them. When they are brown they should look like this.

Once the cupcakes are done allow them to cool.
While the cupcake are cooling for you to ice them I recommend placing the pineapple chunks and cherries you will be using for the top on a paper towel so they can dry some.
 Ice the cupcakes with the butter cream icing then roll the edges of the cupcakes in your toasted coconut. To finish off the cupcake place your pineapple chunks and cherries on top.

Now you have cupcakes that are a perfect addition to summer party.

Daddy's Little Girl

There is just something so special about the relationship between a father and daughter. You can see it even in the smallest of babys. I saw it the other day when I was visiting my friend; as I was holding her 5 month old daughter and she just couldn't stop staring at her daddy and following where he was. She's already Daddy's Little Girl.

I have always been my daddy's little girl. After all, he was my first prince charming. From the day I was born he has treated me like nothing less than a princess. He sure has made it hard for another guy to compare! From showing up at my door with ice cream, cough drops, and every possible cough syrup just because my throat was soar to making sure I know how beautiful I look each time I walk out the door. My dad has gone way beyond just telling me he loves me, he shows me on a daily basis.
{:This isn't an exaggeration either, ask anyone who knows him:}
So to the greatest Dad in the world: Happy Father's Day

The Anti-book Dog

Yes! I have read books, websites, talked to friends, vets, animal gurus and have come to the conclusion that my dog is the ant-book dog.

Here's what I mean...Everything the books and articles say that puppies should and shouldn't do Gracie does the exact opposite. Go figure!

Before I got Gracie I read a book on Shih Tzus, countless articles on potty training, crate training, how long to leave her in the beginning and the list goes on and on. I wanted to be such a good puppy owner...FAIL.

The books say she won't use the restroom where she sleeps WRONG!!

The book says to put them in a small confined area while gone...well that is great but my dog is Houdini and knows how to unzip the doggy door, and "marks her territory" all over my mom's house!

This potty training stuff is for the birds. But each time I get upset I see this face and my heart melts all over again.

Getting Crafty: Decorating Porcelain

One of my newest endeavors in craft projects is decorating/writing on porcelain. Maybe it is in my blood, my Mawmaw used to make and paint ceramics.
This is an easy and fun DIY project that is relatively inexpensive.
{:I LOVE that word inexpensive:}

What you will need:
- Whatever it is you want to write on
{:I found that great places to find bowls/mugs/plates/platters the cheapest are places like Target and TJ Max:}
- A pen made to write on porcelain {:I got mine at Michael's for around $4:}
- Stencils {:I purchased mine at Michael's but stencils are optional:}

 Step 1: gather all your supplies
{:I am a visual person so I thought it may help to see what you will need:}
Step 2: attach your stencil to your project with tape to ensure it does not move, use your porcelain pen to fill in the stencil. Then I freehanded the rest of my dog's name.
Step 3: bake your pro get at 170 degrees for 40 minutes and viola!
And guess what?! It is dishwasher safe!
Perfect: beautiful, simple, and practical!

I did this for my friends birthday present and for my mom for Mother's Day.

 If you have any questions, as always just let me know :)
