Coffe Date

Since we are on a coffee date I thought I would at least show you where I am sitting as we sip our coffee with Pumpkin Spice creamer.
{:Yes I know my coffee cup is not glamorous at all, but it goes in the dishwasher:}

Anyway, as we sit down I would tell you how amazing you look, and how incredible it is that you stay so busy with all you do and yet always look so put together. We're women, it's just what we do right?

As I am sitting here, I literally cannot believe how much has happened in life in the two short months since our last coffee date. Since then three of my friends have gotten married and three other awesome people in my world are now engaged.

While all of my friends are planning their babies first birthday parties, picking out baby names, decorating nurseries, and trying on wedding gowns and going cake tasting, I am more worried about those big decisions in my life like...what nail polish color am I going to try next, and should I get a huge bottle of Ragu or Prego spaghetti sauce this week for the 4 times I will make pasta in the next 5 days?

I am definitely at that age where my friends and I are all the same age but our lives are so vastly different. It's not a bad thing by any means, it is just a place that I have never been before and a place that I find a lot of people my age are at whether they have children, just got married or engaged, or are just living life for the next nail polish color.

It is often hard to balance everything. I have friends with kids who suddenly say they find themselves loving their family but missing the time they had with their girlfriends. Then there are people like me who miss their married girlfriends but are so busy with the other things in life that they can hardly find time to breath. It can be hard to navigate life at this age with so many of your closest friends at every point along life's journey.

But wherever you are remember this...
1 Corn. 7:17
And don’t be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God’s place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there.

You are in God's hands and he is strengthening and sustaining you in your season right now!
I don't want to miss the season I am in NOW because I'm longing for the next one. Let's being women who are committing to flourish right here in our own worlds and in our own season.

Sunday Seven 10/28

{:Sorry about the delay...my Sunday Seven never posted and I thought it had...:}

It's Sunday morning and the rain is coming down from the hurricane that is coming in from the south.
The weather men say that it is the "perfect storm" where three storms {:one from the north, west, and south:} meet right over us....mmmm doesn't sound so perfect to me, just saying.
But, if you are suck inside listening to the pouring rain this today then what better to do than to look at some fab pins from Pinterest?

I have always adored people with super shiny hair and being in pageants girls always seemed to have shiny hair but paid some ridiculous price for the product that made it this way but yesterday I found this pin...
{:Pinned Here:}
It says 5 parts sea salt and 4 parts your favorite shampoo!
If you've tried it let me know how it works. I am curious 1-if it works and 2- does it weight your hair down and cause it to lose all volume?

I am always looking for long shirts I can wear with leggings and ankle booties or my Uggs and I found this
{:Pinned Here:}
From Victoria's Secret
Hey mom, you know my birthday and Christmas are coming up right?!

Loving Gwyneth in her all gray
{:Pinned Here:}
She just looks oober classy doesn't she?

No, I don't have any babies yet, but a girl can still plan her babies wardrobe right?
{:Pinned Here:}
They are from Old Navy too so they have to be affordable!

Okay, now this looks like the best game ever. There is no way you could watch this and still be in a bad, sad, mad mood! Just looking at the picture makes me giggle.
{:Pinned Here:}
You have to shake the pingpong balls out!!
Family, I am bringing the stuff to play this on Christmas Eve!

Who says you have to be under a year to wear "booties"?

{:Pinned Here:}
The shoe itself is awesome and the color is so versatile. I'll also take a pair of this ladies legs too please!

I saw these and fell in love...
{:Pinned Here:}
These shoes even make her unpainted toes look fab!

Happy rainy Sunday :)

Friday Favorites

I didn't get a chance to post my Friday Favorites last week...but it is back this week...

I am obsessed with my new Essie nail color "berry naughty". It is awesome for fall and it actually stays on my nails! No lie, if I paint my nails on Saturday night by the time I go to church Sunday morning they are already looking a hot mess, but not this one. This one stays on me for DAYS.

{:I painted them on Saturday and this was taken on Wednesday...no touchups.:}

Another one of my favorites is coming home to this sweet pea everyday. I love that no matter how I look, what kind of mood I am in, how many dinners I burn, or how dirty my house is she absolutely adores me.

With it being October and Breast Cancer Awareness month some ladies from our church got together to provide ladies who are receiving chemo and radiation treatments at our local hospital with care bags.
Girl time with a purpose is always a favorite of mine.

Finally, loved getting ready for our Halloween party with this guy last Saturday. I know I promised pictures, buuuuuuut I had no idea the costume would be so embarrassing so I'll just post a picture of us getting our costumes ready instead. :)

On a side note, I'm feeling another coffee date coming on soon.

True Blindness

I was reading in John and in John 9 is the story of the blind man who Jesus healed.
This man had been blind from birth. Jesus spit in the mud, made a clay paste, rubbed it on the mans eyes then order him to wash it off in the Pool of Siloam. After, this man washed his eyes he was able to see everything and everyone clearly. He was healed! And his eyes were opened to a world he had never seen before.

As I was reading this piece of scripture I couldn't help but wonder:

What is God asking me to wash from my eyes?

What is it in my life that is clouding my vision of clearly seeing the things He has laid out for me?

Maybe you could ask yourself the same question. It could be any number of things: a negative attitude, a judgmental attitude, sin and guilt from past mistakes, only you know what God wants you to wash from your eyes, and if you aren't sure, ask Him. He wants to tell you if you'll listen.

Washing your eyes can be scary. I am sure the thought crossed this blind man's mind of "what if this doesn't work? What if he put his spit on my eyes and I am still blind?" I mean you can't blame the guy for thinking this way right? So why did he do it then?
 He did it because, even if it didn't work, he had nothing to lose! He was at a point of being willing to try anything to be healed.What do you have by wahing your eyes? Losing your negative attitude? A better outlook on life...that doesn't seem so bad. Losing your judgmental attitude? You mean having compassion for people? Throwing off the sin and shame you've been living with and actually stepping into the grace that Jesus died to give you? All these seem like a trade up if you ask me.
{:and since you're reading my blog I'm guessing you want my input ;):}

And what happened when this blind man's eyes were opened? The blind man could see! He could fully see what was going on around him and now he had a story that was leading people to know Jesus.

Take a leap of faith and allow God to wash the things from your eyes that are blinding you to the purpose and plans He has waiting for YOU! When you wash things from your eyes it is almost a certainty that you will find the answers to things you have been praying for, for weeks, months, even years. God always rewards those who are obedient to him and those who desire to become more like Him.

Who knows...Your story just might be the very thing that leads someone else to Him.

Sunday Seven 10/21

Happy Sunday everyone? Can you believe most of October is already over?!
How is that even possible?
Last night I went to a Halloween costume party with a bunch of my friends...I can't wait to share pictures, but for now here are my favorite pins of the week.

{:Pinned Here:}
It's really easy to do.  I just did it from looking at the pictures. It turned out so well I had women at church taking pictures of it.
If you need it, maybe I can do a vlog how-to for this style

{:Pinned Here:}
Over your laminate counter tops, but don't want to spend the money on granite?
Here is a how-to on painting laminate!

{:Pinned Here:}
I can so DIY that

{:Pinned Here:}
This says to spray Pam on your wet nails, wipe off the residue, and it will be dry!
I havent tried it yet but the ice cold water for 3 min works; it is just CrAzY painful...but worth it when its over.

{:Pinned Here:}
How to print washed out pictures on lined paper for letters.

{:Pinned Here:}
I am contemplating this hair color for fall and winter...what do you think?

{:Pinned Here:}
O-M-G...you know my birthday is coming up ;)

Have an awesome week y'all!

Wake up your P E R S P E C T I V E

{:via:}

During my quiet time the other day I was reading in John 11.
John 11 is a story some of you may be familiar with. Lazarus, brother of Mary and Martha, and close friend of Jesus has died. When Jesus heard of this news he didn't immediately go to his dead friend Lazarus or even go to comfort Martha and Mary. When he did decide to go to them, two days later, he told his disciples "Lazarus has fallen asleep, I'm going to wake him up."
{:John 11:11:}

Um...excuse me Jesus, I think you misheard the messenger. Lazarus isn't sleeping, he is DEAD
D-E-A-D.

But that is the funny thing, Jesus often does not share in our limited, black or white perspective. By any human's standards Lazarus was dead but by Jesus' standards he was simply sleeping.

Jesus saw him as only sleeping because he knew Lazarus' current condition wasn't permanent. Jesus knew he had the ability and power to change the situation.

The same power that rose Christ from the dead lives in you and it lives in me. {:Romans 8:11:}That means as Christians, Christ followers,  we hold the same ability and power to see situations differently. Not only to see them differently but to walk into these situations with a fearless confidence knowing that we too hold the ability and power to change things. We have the ability to defeat the dark "graves" of peoples lives and in our own lives.

Jesus walked into this situation with confidence because he knew He was the answer. We need to walk into situations the same way: with confidence because WE carry the answer to every problem on the planet within us. Jesus

Do people like Mary and Martha, who are in a tough spot or time, come running for us because they recognizes our ability to see beyond the natural? To bring a fresh perspective?

Sunday Seven 10/14

These weekends just go by too fast don't they? Enjoy every second of your day and thanks for taking a few seconds to check Sunday Seven out.

{:Pinned Here:}
It's an app where you can take a picture of everything in your wardrobe, plan outfits, and date when you wore them last so you don't end up wearing the same thing to those monthly meetings or group dates.

{:Pinned Here:}
Of corse I love this...I am a coffee junkie

{:Pinned Here:}
A magazine holder for cans....a great idea for kitchens with limited cabinet space like mine.

Pumpkin Pickin'

This past Saturday some of my friends, Morgan and Emmett...
...invited me and a couple others over for a "fall day".
They invited us over for pumpkin carving, carmel apple making and apple cider. With all that goodness I was totally in!

The day started at their house with fall-ish snacks and then we headed off to the pumpkin patch.
On the way to the pumpkin patch we saw BUFFALO! What?! Buffalo in West Virginia?
So of corse we pulled over to take pictures

The buffalo were so neat to see...until they started charging the fence!!...that was a little frightening. But then it became a game for the guys to see if they could touch it of corse. I wish you could see the video of Emmett^^ getting up the nerve to touch it as his preggers wife stands in the  background giggling and saying "not a good idea, babe, not a good idea"

But anyway...
 so we finally go to the pumpkin patch and I am pretty sure we were the only people picking pumpkins who didn't have kids.
{:Who needs kids when you are just a big one though right?:}
So the search {:more like the competition:} began to find the perfect pumpkin.

After all of us had picked our perfect pumpkins it was carving time.

{:Mine is the best one, so obviously it's the second one from the left.:}

After pumpkin carving we made carmel apples. We played Apples to Apples while they were setting and drank some delicious homemade apple cider.
By the time we had eaten not even half of our carmel apples, we were all suffering from apple hangovers. Poor Emmett...he tried to rubble-fist the carmel apples but he just couldn't hang

So, that was our awesome day.
There is nothing like making memories with incredible friends!

Sunday Seven

Hi beautiful! Did you have a good week, are you enjoying your weekend? I sure am loving everything about fall. The fall weather here in West Virginia is in full force today and I can't stop smiling.

Speaking of fall, check out this pin from Pinterest
{:Pinned Here:}
What a cute sequin sweatshirt from J Crew
I am going to be so sad when sequins and sparkles are no longer "in"

{:Pinned Here:}
With all my girlfriends getting married this makes me think of them for their wedding rehearsal or honeymoon.

{:Pinned Here:}
Keeping with the wedding trend...
The caption under this pin says
"crossing wedding bands. Ecc. 4:12 states 'a cord of 3 strands is not quickly broken.'
God, Husband and wife"
How neat is that...love rings with significance...as if that ring doesn't already hold enough significance.

{:Pinned Here:}
Dress up a cheap frame by decorating is with glue, let it dry, and then paint over it with one solid color and it looks like a specialty carved frame!

{:Pinned Here:}
A spray that PREVENTS your pet from using the bathroom inside
AWESOME

{:Pinned Here:}
I am trying this....cute with feather earrings like she is wearing a scarf, fall sweater, and boots

{:Pinned Here:}
For my shoe pin....a great way to organize your shoes. I need one of these for sure!
