Book Review - The Christian Atheist

I have currently completed 5 books on my goal to 20 by the end of the year! Yippee; I am feeling pretty proud of myself.

The Christian Atheist: Believeing in God but Living as If He Doesn't Exist, by Craig Groeschel, is another book I have been recommending to countless people. Five out of five stars for sure. The title alone for me was convicting enough that I had to download the book on my Kindle app. Once I started reading; I could't get enough of the book.

I think part of what made this book so captivatin for me was Pastor Craig's transparency with his own life even identifying himself {:a word renown pastor, author, and speaker:} as a Christian atheist. Just to give you a glimpse into that transparency is this quote from the book: "At the age of 25, I was a full-time pastor and a part time follower of Christ." Reading a book by someone who is relatable takes the book to an entirely new level. It also doesn't hurt that he is pretty humorous as well.

This book challenged me to look at the condition of my heart, but it also encouraged me to do something to change the areas of my walk with Christ that still need a lot of work. It was a perfect blend.

If you look at yourself and can honestly say that some of your pursuit of God and His purpose and will has become monotonous or even been misplaced as a side thought rather than a priority, this book is absolutely for you! I actually wish I had the book in a paper copy instead of on my iPad so that I could pass it on to friends.

What I am reading now: Start Something that Matters by Blake Mycoskie {:the creator of TOMS:}
