Operation 30 Thursday - My Running Playlist

RunningPlaylist

If you follow along with me on Instagram you would have seen all my fitness posts documenting my goal of being in the best shape of my life by the time I turn 30 at the end of this year.

One of the ways I am doing that is running and last week marked one month along my running journey! Cue the confetti poppers and annoying party horns. You may not be clapping, but I am totes patting myself on the back big time. I am now up to running between 15 and 20 miles a week. {:Not bad for the girl who almost threw up after running just 2 miles the first day.:}

I started my running journey outside in Alabama over our family vacation there for the holidays.  The weather was about 60 degrees and the roads were absolutely flat which made for the perfect conditions for a beginner runner. The only problem was I was so not a runner. But, I made up my mind that I was going to be in the best shape of my life by December 1, 2016 and I knew that my body responds best to running. So off I went. When we got back home to WV the weather was cold and we live in the mountains so running outside for this newbie runner was a no go. Luckily, my parents have a treadmill that happens to sit directly in front of a big flat screen tv. I would record shows strategically and play them while I ran to make the time go by faster.

Now, I am back here in Australia and while my preference would be to run outside it is summer here which means temperatures that often reach above 100 degrees. And, I live in “the Hills” district which gets its name honest. So to the gym treadmill it was.

The only problem is I have to run for 30+ minutes facing a lime green wall and three tc screens that only flash “no signal". This isn’t anymore entertaining than watching gold on TV so I knew I would have to have get a killer playlist to keep myself motivated.

This playlist motivates me and I even find myself upping the speed when certain songs come on. I have gone from running two miles to running 3.5-4 miles a day. I'm learning that the music that is playing matters! So here are my favorites.

Oh, and I am also always looking for music to add to my playlist so be sure to share some of your favorite running jams.
